Intrinsic safety interfaces

GMI's core: barriers and galvanic isolators that limit the energy entering the hazardous area and isolate the signal. High channel density, 4-20 mA and HART.

  • D5000 IS barriers — high-density isolators (12.5 mm/channel), HART
  • D1000 IS barriers — top reliability, independent dual channel
  • D6000 galvanic isolators — universal mounting, safe area

B

SIL safety relays

Safety relays independently TÜV certified to SIL 2/3 (coil to contact), suitable for NE/ND applications (Fire & Gas).

  • Compact, high-density design at only 12.5/22.5 mm per channel with universal mounting (DIN rail or Termination Boards), compatible with DO LM card pulses for transparent line/load monitoring and fault indication.
  • Fully independent channels with gold-plated contacts (5 A and 10 A), G3 coating against aggressive environments and a -40 °C to +70 °C range, reaching proof-test intervals of 10/20 years.

C

SIL power supplies

Modular power supply individually certified to SIL 3, with Ex approval for installation in hazardous Zone/Division 2 areas.

  • Designed for 100% redundancy without external modules: built-in load sharing, short-circuit protection, -40 to +70 °C operating range, remote status monitoring with Modbus option and DIN rail or rack mounting.

Acquisition & communication

Bring the field signal up to the system with less wiring: multichannel acquisition from the Ex area and centralised HART signal management.

  • Temperature multiplexer — D2000 (RTD/thermocouple from Ex zone)
  • HART Interface / Multiplexer — 5700 (up to 256 HART signals)

Field protection & signalling

Surge protection for instrumentation loops and local indication of the process variable in the field.

  • Instrumentation surge protectors — D9000 (loop protection)
  • Field indicators — T3010S (local process variable)

Universal Termination Boards

Direct connection between the system I/O card (PLC/DCS/ESD) and the electronic modules — barriers, isolators and relays of the D5000/D6000/D1000 series — via dedicated multicore cable. Standard or customised.

  • Interfaces to all main vendors: Foxboro, ABB, Triconex, Yokogawa, Honeywell
  • Universal solutions with patch cables for Universal I/O modules
  • Analog TBs with HART Interface System — fewer multiplexer modules
